Councillor Daniel Ennis was born and raised on the North Strand in the heart of the Dublin’s North Inner City. He lives here with his partner Chloe and two kids - Wylder & Wren.
A member of the Social Democrats, he was elected to Dublin City Council (DCC) in June 2024 at the age of 35, representing the North Inner City local electoral area. Councillor Ennis has played League Of Ireland football with Bohemians, Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers. But Daniel really found his passion and calling when he joined community club, EastWall Bessborough FC. A club his father Geoff Ennis Snr. founded for at risk youths, people struggling with addiction and people in search of a second chance. EWB is a club built on charity and helping people in need, Daniel carried these founding factors with him and the club since his father’s untimely passing in 2016.
Daniel’s drive, compassion, empathy and focus resulted in the club’s rapid development, particularly over the past 3 years. He has also been one of the main drivers of inclusivity and the progression of proper facilities for the children and young adults of the inner city community in Dublin 1 and Dublin 3. EWB proudly boasts fourteen different nationalities across 121 members ranging from ages 3 - 86. Daniel had turned, EWB, a club rooted deeply in the North Inner City community, into a progressive, inclusive and dynamic organisation.
As a prominent community activist with longstanding involvement in youth sporting organisations. He is deeply committed to spreading the message of inclusion and tolerance and has been a strong, unifying voice for all communities, in a period in which our city has faced its biggest challenges.
