Colette O'Loughlin is a Project Worker with Barnardos National Wellbeing Project, where she has worked for the past three years. She is based in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. The aim of this project is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and parents by delivering wellbeing programmes in schools and across the community. These programmes provide evidence-informed, body-based interventions to children and parents, as working from a body-based perspective is an effective way to offer trauma-informed support to vulnerable children and families. The approach incorporates rhythm, movement, and breathwork.
Before joining the Wellbeing Project, Colette worked with Barnardos Family Support Service in Thurles and the Barnardos Drugs Project in Tallaght. After earning her degree in Early Childhood, she spent two years working at Hill Street FRC in Dublin’s North East Inner City.
