Dr. Annie Cummins is a sociologist and lecturer in the Department of Sport, Leisure, and Childhood Studies at Munster Technological University (MTU) Cork. She is also a member of OMEP Ireland, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the rights of all children. Her research areas include creative and arts-based research methods, play and play spaces, children’s culture, and the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences across the life course. In 2022, Annie was invited by the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) and UNICEF to deliver training as part of their Emergency Childhood Development Support Programme.
